Asked which software to buy, an AI assistant cited a demo vendor's blog more often than Gartner

Independent researchers put 380 software categories to Perplexity's two grounded models and kept all 7,534 citations. Nearly 60 percent point outside the 100,000 most-visited sites, Wikipedia was cited three times, and three sites under apparently common control have published 215,128 generated buying guides. Two of them title their homepage a grounding page.
